A quick coupler (also known as a quick hitch) is a device used with construction machines to enable the rapid change of working tools or buckets and attachments on the machine. It eliminates the need to manually drive out and insert mounting pins for attachments, saving time and effort. Quick couplers come in various designs, including those that can pick up any range of buckets and attachments by clamping onto the mounting pins (known as “pin grabbers”) and those that work only with dedicated buckets and attachments designed for that specific quick coupler. The method of operation can be manual, semi-automatic, or automatic.
